Venue Finding in Chester

KDM work closely with Chester’s many city centre venues and outlying country house hotels providing a fast, free venue finding service.

One of England’s oldest and most complete walled cities, Chester is a beautiful city famous for its architecture and history.

The Romans built a fortress here nearly 2000 years ago and parts of the original walls now form a pleasant walkway.

In the Middle Ages, Chester was a prosperous port on the river Dee but in the 1700's the harbour silted up and trade abandoned. However, parts of the old quay are still visible.

The Cross is where four streets meet and where the town crier stands. Surrounding this are The Rows, magnificent medieval black and white half-timbered, galleried buildings raised above street level.

Chester Cathedral was built in the 11th century and has been heavily restored, but part of the original structure does survive.

The famous clock tower at Eastgate was created for the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887. Nearby Chester Zoo covers over 100 acres and is home to many exotic animals in a landscaped environment.
