Dragon Boat Racing is now one of Britain’s fastest growing competitive water sports. The event can take place on any piece of placid water e.g. river, canal, reservoir, lake, dock, marina with a race distance of approximately 250m and a minimum depth of 3’.
Approximately forty feet, each canoe-like vessel has an ornately carved dragon’s head and tail, a drummer beating time and can seat up to 16 guests in pairs ready to paddle.
Colourful, dynamic and exciting, this event is full of spectacle and pageantry and above all, fast paced fun!
The event starts with a brief introduction to how the racing works and what to expect. We will then organise the teams, get them kitted out and cover the following safety points:
Each team will have a minimum of three timed races to see who qualifies for the final challenge! We will take each team’s best time only and sort them into fastest time order. The top teams will then race once more in a Grand Final to see who will be crowned Dragon Boat Champions!
