On 27 March 2026, Big Local partnered with KDM Events to deliver an unforgettable evening of charity team building at The Eastside Rooms for 300 guests. Designed to celebrate community achievements and present awards, the event combined entertainment, immersive theming and engaging charity team building activities to create an inclusive and uplifting experience for every attendee.
Creating the right atmosphere was central to the success of this charity team building event. The main stage featured a large-format screen delivering crystal-clear visuals, dramatic LED uplighting and professional audio for flawless sound throughout the evening. Giant illuminated BIG LOCAL letters created a striking focal point and encouraged guests to gather, connect and celebrate together.
Get in TouchEvery aspect of the event was carefully designed to enhance the guest experience. From arrival, attendees were welcomed into a vibrant branded environment featuring giant yellow wellington boots, oversized themed frames and bespoke signage in the Big Local colour palette. These creative touches not only elevated the venue visually but also provided clear navigation across the different activity zones. Attention to detail is essential when delivering successful charity team building events, helping guests feel immersed, engaged and connected from start to finish.
Following dinner, the evening entertainment began with live music, performers and interactive stage acts that kept energy levels high throughout the celebration. Alongside the main room was a dedicated activity space packed with exciting charity team building activities designed to encourage interaction, collaboration and fun. Guests enjoyed a mix of classic fairground-style games and high-energy challenges including Hoopla, Mega Wires, Hook-a-Duck, Coconut Shy, Batak, Catch It and the ever-popular Neuron Racer. These interactive experiences ensured there was something for everyone while reinforcing the spirit of charity team building. Upstairs, guests could unwind in a quieter breakout space featuring picnic benches, bean bags, arts and crafts, and a fully branded photo booth complete with props and instant prints.
More charity team building events from KDMA highlight of the evening was the famous KDM sweet cart, filled with nostalgic favourites including rhubarb & custards, Wham bars and liquorice. This relaxed social space encouraged guests to network, reconnect and continue enjoying the atmosphere in between activities.
The National Lottery Community Fund established Big Local in 2010 as a long-term funding programme supporting communities across England. Through the initiative, 150 areas have each received over £1 million to create lasting positive change within their neighbourhoods. Big Local empowers local people to make decisions that strengthen their communities, creating resilient, connected and opportunity-rich places to live.
As part of the charity team building activities, guests also contributed to a collaborative Digital Mosaic experience, creating a memorable visual representation of the event and reinforcing the sense of community and shared achievement throughout the evening.
