Senior Event Manager Flashes More Than Just Creative Flair During Catwalk Challenge Training

A lighthearted fun indoor team building event

Welcome to the 4th annual KDM Trolley Dash

Continuing the commitment to continuous learning the KDM team, including office and event staff, took part in Catwalk Challenge training yesterday afternoon.

Catwalk Challenge is a fun (I now say this with some authority following the hilarious events of yesterday afternoon) indoor team building event offered by KDM in which teams are given the opportunity to design, create and model a catwalk collection.

Graeme delivered the brief and we were tasked with designing 3 items of clothing; one for the beach, one for ‘da club’ and one for evening wear. The garments had to be for the upcoming season and we had to create a unique company name, control the lighting, music and introduce the collection to the audience.

'

As someone who once sewed a cardigan to a cushion while trying to re-sew a button on, I must admit, I was slightly nervous about letting down my team. But for those amongst us with little or no skill, sewing can be kept to a minimum as there are plenty of other tasks to keep guests occupied. Also, staplers are provided so if threading a needle is just too much you can just staple clothes together!

Garments produced included an Olympic themed evening dress with coloured hoop design, a Ginger Spice inspired Union Jack clubbing outfit and a sexy gold number with a fetching turban. Also created was a rather revealing outfit made almost entirely of gaffer tape and safety pins which Garry Holford, senior Event Manager at KDM, designed, made and modelled.

Despite the slight lack of enthusiasm at the start of the event everyone, including the men involved and those who are sewing challenged, thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the event. This event will bring out the creative side in everyone – and, unlike the KDM team, if you’re lucky that’s all you’ll see!

Please contact us if you are interested in booking a Catwalk Challenge or any other indoor team building event.
