This activity encourages teams to learn new skills and bond as a team as they implement basic survival skills in an unusual and memorable experience!
After a safety briefing and introduction by our KDM Event Manager it’s on with the challenges! All tasks are demonstrated and supervised by our experienced instructors and depending on your group’s ability on the day we will guide them through some or all of the 4 survival skills – at the conclusion of the event your KDM Event Manager will recap the main points of the survival skills learnt and experienced on the day, before giving the teams a survival rating for their performance!
The activities are challenging and fun yet will require skill, strategy and action. After a safety briefing and introduction by our KDM Event Manager it’s on with the challenges!
Learning natural techniques about scavenging, teams will hunt to collect resources along with the essential materials that will be required to survive the next rounds!
There are 2 different types of shelters that you can build but what materials did you collect from your scavenger hunt? Do you have the basic equipment needed to build any of these shelters or will you be left out in the cold?
There are three main techniques to Fire Lighting which incorporate both original, modern and traditional methods such as friction and percussion. Which will you be successful in achieving? Light a fire to ensure you can toast those marshmallows!
Using a knife & folding saw you will be shown and able to practice carving skills and use them in your quest for survival! This is a fascinating skill to be introduced to and instructors will show teams the safe and correct way to enjoy whittling.
