STUDENT BUDDY

This sustainable team building event is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) and is a great option for guests to contribute to social value. Your team will ‘power up’ as you are introduced to energy poverty. At the beginning of the session, you’ll receive a powerful educational presentation to better understand energy poverty and the effects it has on people around the world. In teams of 4, participants assemble a ground breaking energy and digital access solution (a Student Buddy) and connect with a child living in energy poverty via a handwritten letter of encouragement, which are packaged as a gift with the devices.

A Student Buddy device is a powerful lightweight solar system incorporating USB charging capabilities, providing safe and clean sustainable lighting that will transform lives.

All devices are returned and prepared for their journey to a distribution country – with recent recipients in Cambodia, Papua New Guinea, Kenya & Madagascar to name just a few of the countries you’ll be assisting. This is the sister event to Solar Buddy.

SOLARBUDDY

If you are looking for sustainable team building activities that support Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) then look no further. KDM Events are proud to be championing sustainability, by offering this unique activity that delivers tangible benefits to children who are living amongst energy poverty. Around 70% of Pacific households lack access to electricity which is why the Solar Buddy charity works hard to support this region. A single Solar Buddy light helps FIVE people with its educational, economic, health and environmental benefits.

A single light can:
Enable a child to study 78% longer – improving their education
Increase the overall health of women and children by 60% – by reducing reliance on toxic fuels
Reduce a family’s average weekly expenditure on kerosene by 80%

Guests receive a powerful educational presentation, after which participants assemble a solar light (a Solar Buddy) and connect with a child living in energy poverty via a letter-writing activity, which will be packaged as a gift with the light. This is the sister event to Student Buddy.

Each team is issued with a tablet using the latest GPS technology, to create an event which is engaging and involves the whole team – also giving a real feel-good factor and powerful memories of the lasting contribution made. LITTLE FREE LIBRARY

This sustainable team building activity is the perfect option for values-driven organisations and, of course, bookworms! Participants will learn about a growing literacy crisis. In England, 16.4% of adults (7.1 million people) can be described as being functionally illiterate. They will find out how this affects people and their daily lives.

The event enables teams of 6 guests to assemble their own Little Free Library book-sharing box in 1–2 hours. Once the libraries are assembled, guests will be able to keep them, to then install them in their community, providing a lasting impact by increasing book access locally for years to come. 98% of people say their neighbourhood feels like a friendlier place because of a Little Free Library. As you have the freedom to choose the location of your assembled Little free Library – you can be assured that this sustainable team building really delivers for you.

Green House is a team-based event centred around the challenges of sustainability, using a mixture of science, skill and mental based challenges to both test and educate your guests.
Teams build and maintain a water filtration system and also generate a renewable energy source, as well as looking at reducing their carbon footprint with insulation and recycling
