Charity Bike Build is a practical hands-on experience built to maximise engagement and impact. Working together, your team will build high-quality bikes that are donated directly to people who genuinely need them. Along the way, expect teamwork, laughter and problem-solving as you see the real difference your efforts make.
Itโs incredible what one bike can do. For a young carer, it means freedom.
For someone facing homelessness, itโs a way to get to a new job. For others, itโs independence, opportunity and a fresh start.
More than just a feel good activity, this experience strengthens communication, boosts morale and brings teams closer together. Itโs a brilliant way to showcase your company values and support your CSR goals.
Every bike built is donated to a carefully selected charity (you can select your own charity to donate if preferred) supporting people facing real challenges. Your team wonโt just build bikes,ย youโll help build confidence, independence and brighter futures. One bike really can change a life.
The group is split into teams and has 2-2.5 hours to complete the bike build. The event kicks off with a briefing and a short presentation from the recipient charity who will explain how the donated bikes will benefit the people they support.
Each team has a professional bike workshop set up where they will assemble the bike. Teams will need to decide their roles before attending knowledge sessions with our expert mechanics where they will each learn a different aspect of the bike build, from gears to brakes to comfort and steering.
During the event, teams can take part in mini-challenges to win points to exchange for accessories like lights, helmets and locks from our shop.
The completed bikes are then safety checked by our mechanics before being delivered to the recipients.
To gain the extra points required for accessories for the bike, teams will need to complete at least 3 team challenges!
Nail It
Whilst nails are a bikes enemy, teams need to embrace and solve Nail It, a thinking outside of the box challenge.
Velodrome
A cycle influenced communication challenge, the team will work together to combine information and mental arithmetic to seek out the answer to the Velodrome.
Need for Speed
Our most popular challenge with teams vying for โKing of the Sprintsโ โ 4 laps of a 250m velodrome. 1.5 minutes of glory or 2.5 minutes of hell!
The Bike Shop
Using the points won from the above challenges, teams can purchase accessories for their bikes. Maybe a helmet, a lock or a set of lights? What will your teams choose for their bikes?
